Jeff Desilets - Shawnee H.S.
“A leader knows that the only place where success comes before work is in a dictionary.” – Vidal Sassoon
Hey New Jersey! My name is Jeff Desilets and I’m from a small town in the pine barrens of South Jersey. I have participated in my schools’ student governments since I was in sixth grade when I first had my heart set on running for state office. I look forward to the opportunity to work with the NJASC for the state charity, LTC, and everything else the Presidential position might entail! My hobbies include reading, playing piano, traveling, and of course, just hanging out with my friends. I’m considering a career in the biomedical or political science fields, but whatever I do, I want to have a job where I can help people.
I’m very dedicated to my schoolwork (my favorite subject is world language), but I try to not let it consume my life. I swim and run track for my school, Shawnee High. I also participate in a few clubs and bands as well - with student council of course as the main priority. I spend my summers lifeguarding and volunteering at a local animal shelter. However, I’d like to think that a person should be judged not on what activities he does, but by the character he possesses. I’m a hard-working, passionate, ethical, yet fun-loving individual who hopes to help make the 2008 NJASC year the best it can be.
