LTC 2010 - Testimonials

Click on the links below to read testimonials from the delegates of our 2010 Leadership Training Conference...

"I was pretty reluctant going to LTC on that first day...but now as I look back on the experience, the four days I spent at LTC will forever be the most memorable experience of my summer. The enthusiasm and energy of the staff and the balance of fun and learning, are only some of the aspects that make LTC so enthralling. I learned more about myself and stepped out of my comfort zone by performing in the talent show and meeting new people and I will be forever grateful for the push and support LTC gave me. I will take all that I learned - the skills and fundraising ideas - and apply them to my job as Student Council Treasurer. Thank you LTC for giving me an experience I'll never forget!"

Samantha Falcucci
North Hunterdon High School
Annandale, NJ

"Let me say it was probably the BEST 4 days I've had in a long time. I made so many new friends and learned a lot in each class. I feel that when I start in the fall as secretary, I'll have tons of new ideas and oppurtunities to bring to the table. Everyone at LTC was so nice and all of the jc's were so sweet and fun to be around. I really enjoyed the jc's r.o.c.k. I loved my townhouse and who I was with. I felt so proud of myself with what I had accomplished from being in the talent show, to the skit, from the LTC games to participating in all of the classes. On a fun scale of 1-10 I think I'd give Session 1 an 11...I enjoyed every moment.  I feel Session 1 really bonded as a family and I will definitely be coming back next year and years to come."

Lauren Echausse
Roosevelt Intermediate School
Westfield, NJ

"Before I went to LTC, I was very nervous at what to expect. Then when I arrived at LTC, I was scared to join the JC's in JCs Rock. But soon after a while, i got used to it and started joining in. The classes related to real life situations, and talked about how to improve your leadership skills. The classes also taught you new skills. I believe it is an opportunity to improve yourself that can only be experienced and cannot be described very well with words. So for all of you that gets this chance to attend, I recommend 100% that you come and make new friends, learn new skills, and have a fantastic time."

Kush Mansuria
Brooklawn Middle School
Parsippany, NJ

"LTC was one of the best experiences of my life. At first I was worried about what I had gotten myself into but in four days, I built friendships and memories that will last forever. I learned how to be a true leader and cannot wait for September to come so that I can bring back my new knowledge to my school’s student council. LTC truly was helpful and fun! I wish it could have gone on longer because I never wanted to leave. LTC was one of the best possible ways to spend part of my summer. It was like nothing I have ever experienced before. The excitement that everyone has really just gets everyone pumped for any amazing time. I can’t wait to go back to LTC 2 next summer and do it all over again!"

Aimee Manjares
Mount Olive High School
Flanders, NJ

"Both years of LTC have been life changing for me...from the amazing people I have met, to unforgettable lessons I've learned, LTC has marked its spot in my heart. The program has not only helped shape who I am today, but also helped me decide who I will become."

Harshita Nednuri
West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South
Princeton Junction, NJ

"I had no idea that anyone could learn so much yet have so much fun at the same time... you have amazing Senior Counselors teaching you really valuable life and leadership lessons...none of the classes were EVER boring...everything about LTC developed my leadership skills and my ability to lead my school as President...I have been completely transformed by L.T.C's magic. I partied, sang my heart out, ate tons of ice cream and candy, and I even had a race with the Staff Cart to the dance (which I won). I have made so many new friends, met the one and only "Muffin King," and I've even "fallen in love with another delegate." I'd like to say thanks to everyone that made my LTC experience all the more unforgettable...I will do everything I can to find myself back at TCNJ for another crazy session next year and for years to come, maybe not as a delegate, but as a Junior Counselor or even a State Officer."

Paco Abiad
Thomas Grover Middle School
Princeton Junction, NJ

"LTC reminds me of why it is so great to be a teenager.  You get to laugh, sing, converse, make friends and share your life with incredible people. LTC 2 is even better than LTC 1, because from the start, you and the rest of the 'Green Team' are comfortable with the circle games, the fantastic staff, and know that the energy level is at maximum the entire 4 days.  LTC has increased the confidence I have in my ability to communicate.  The unique experience has helped me find my passion and I'm learning how to use my voice effectively to meet the needs that I see around me.  I feel like I have my life together, and can use my energy and enthusiasm to motivate others to live at their fullest potential.  Leadership is about representing the people around you, and knowing how to interact to accomplish your goals.  LTC shows you how to 'let your soul shine,' and for that I am forever thankful."

Brittany Ghicondey
Cherokee High School
Marlton, NJ

"Why would anyone want to go to a place and take boring classes and wake up early in the middle of the summer?" Well, by the end I thought of LTC in an entirely different way.  Yes, you had to wake up early every morning and take classes, but by the end of the session, I did not want to leave.  After the first day, I WANTED to wake up early and I was LOOKING FORWARD to EACH and EVERY class.  The classes were extremely fun and exciting, they were never boring.  LTC was not a drag at all!  In my school, I am known as the loud and peppy one and I have never met someone as spirited as myself.  When I went to LTC, I was astonished how every JC and SC was like me.  However, most of the delegates there on the first day were not so wild...at the end of the session, everyone was just like the JCs and SCs and they were all screaming, cheering, and yelling.  I hope that I can have the chance to come back again instead of as a delegate and as a JC because LTC was without a doubt, the BEST four days of my summer."

Ryan Peslis
Stewartsville Middle School
Stewartsville, NJ

"LTC was amazing! I was worried, but once I got there I realized that so were a lot of people. My townhouse was very comforting and all the girls in it with me were so fun. The classes rocked! At first I thought that they would be like school, BUT these classes were totally the opposite. The teachers were so fun and even if the topic wasn't the most exciting they found a way to make it fun for everyone!!! Overall. my experience was the B-E-S-T and I am hoping to come back next year :) LTC Session 1 was awesome!"

Emily Rudderow
Olson Middle School
Tabernacle, NJ

"LTC 2 was amazing, I loved it very much! Seeing the friends that I saw in the first session was great. The classes were surprising; it was very different but you learned a lot because in LTC 2 they push you, or should I say lead you, into being the best leader you can be...I encourage everyone who went to LTC 1 to go to LTC 2, it was a really great experience. From this I am going to better serve my community and the things I am involved with. Thank you! Go Green Team!"

Victoria Perez
Bayonne High School
Bayonne, NJ

"LTC was the experience of a lifetime! I can't believe how many good friends I've made. The JCs were so funny, and outgoing and they made you want to "jump and shake my booty"! I loved all the skits, they made me laugh. The classes were extremely helpful and they brought up points that I know I'll bring back in September to my Student Council. When I got there I didn't know what to expect, but right when we jumped into that big circle and had some circle games I knew I would have the time of my life. Thank you LTC staff for making it so enjoyable, and GO PURPLE!"

Ben Klein
Hillsborough Middle School
Hillsborough, NJ

"LTC 2 was probably one of the greatest experiences of my life! The classes went even more in depth, and I learned so much more than I ever thought could be taught in a lifetime, let alone in just four days! My JCs, SCs, and all other staff were fantastic, even more amazing than I remembered them, and my color group bonded like I never thought possible! My group even joked that we're waiting on an announcement for LTC 3, because we'd all love to come back for a third time!"

Annie Giercyk
Parsippany Hills High School
Morris Plains, NJ

"LTC was a life changing experience! Not only did I meet some amazing people, I learned a lot about myself and leadership.  Where else do you get to take classes about how not to label people, or classes on how to be yourself? It was truly an experience I will never forget!"

Ashley Tomasura
Toms River High School - South
Toms River, NJ

"LTC has been one of the highlights of my summer this year... everything about LTC went above and beyond my expectations. I had a blast meeting new people from all parts of New Jersey, circling up for the crazy songs, and my personal favorite, (winning) the LTC games! The classes were engaging, informative, and the farthest thing from boring. I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with the other student leaders at my school. But the part that impressed me the most during the short four days at LTC was the atmosphere; LTC was radiating with positivity and everybody was always in high-spirits! Every single moment of LTC offered me a chance to improve myself as a person and as a student leader. LTC taught me not only leadership skills, but valuable life skills. I will never forget my experience at LTC and hope that I can come back next year! Thank you to those who made LTC a phenomenal adventure and for letting me be part of it!"

Hannah Kim
Mount Olive High School
Flanders, NJ

"LTC was a wonderful expirience for me because it gave me a chance to meet other people with the same love for student council that I have, and to share ideas with them."

Jenna Palek
Cherokee High School
Marlton, NJ

"Originally, I was not supposed to go to LTC untill next year...but when my mom talked to Mr. and Mrs. Mirabella, they said I should go.  I was so excited to go to LTC...the JCs were so hyper and enthusiastic.  I actually thought they were jacked up on sugar and soda, but it was a great experience. Over the four days, I had so much fun, and learned so much.  I learned so many helpful tips and procedures that I know will help my school in the fall. as the fourth day drew to a close, I realized how many friends I had made. And the girls in my townhouse seemed like family. It was sad to leave LTC, I didnt want to go and I was just as excited as the JCs.  Now I take the knowledge that LTC has given me and use it as much as I can."

Meghan Ryan
Park Middle School
Scotch Plains, NJ

"I could describe LTC in one word - awesome! The first day I was really anxious; moving into a townhouse with about seven girls I've never met. But as soon as I walked in, the jc's gave a loud and warm welcome to us which made me feel so much better. Everyone seemed like they had known each other for years! I had such a blast while learning at the same time. I met amazing people, who I still talk to. I will never forget this great experience, and you will definitely see me again at LTC next summer!"

Marissa Alvarez
Roosevelt Intermediate School
Westfield, NJ

“I have to admit that at first I was a little shy, but that’s why I was there...to become more outgoing, more independent, and to boost my leadership skills.  On the first day I felt a little home sick, but people immediately helped me feel right at home.  I was able to make a lot of friends, not just in my own town house but with everyone there.  I made a lot of friends that I still keep in touch with now...not only did I make important lifelong friendships, but the classes I was able to take and participate in helped my skills as a leader and would also help my student council.  I learned a lot of new fundraising ideas and how to encourage leadership to other people.  LTC was an amazing experience and I would encourage anyone to participate in it because of how great of an impact it left on me.”

Thomas Folger
Cranford High School
Cranford, NJ

"Coming to LTC was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made....LTC completely blew my expectations out of the water. I truly think that these four days have changed my view on life. I learned so many things I can't even name them all. Everyone expects a camp with classes would be like - dare I say it - SCHOOL in the summer. Well, they are wrong. It was fun and exciting and taught you things that can help you in everyday life. LTC was the perfect balance between learning and fun. The friends I've made will outlive this summer and the skills I have learned will help me for the rest of my life...Hopefully, I can come back again for LTC 2.  I will never forget the skills I have learned, the people I have met, and the memories we have created. If given the chance, please come to LTC. I can honestly say that I would go back to relive those four days in a heartbeat.  I LOVED LTC!"

Meghan Clements
Holy Cross High School
Delran, NJ

"Words can't even begin to describe what an experience I had at LTC! It was my second home for four days and I can already say I miss it. Being around kids involved in the same thing as you trying to improve their leadership makes it such a comfortable environment to be in, learn in, and share with others. Throughout all the classes there a lesson to take out of each and something I know I can, as well as other take back to school come September. The close friendships I made and things I learned will be able to follow me for a lifetime, and I can honestly say I was very fortunate and lucky to be able to attend LTC! AQUA <3"

"LTC was a wonderful experience for me. It helped me make new friends as well as teaching me how to be a better leader. I may not be part of the Student Council but I am a Peer Leader, which the aspects of being a leader that I learned will definitely help me be better...I had a great time and am definitely bringing what I learned at LTC straight to school to make it a better place."

Jeevat Chhatwal
Brooklawn Middle School
Parsippany, NJ

"LTC was like no other experience that I have ever had in my life. On top of learning new leadership skills that I will not only take back to my school and use in my future, I made friends that will last a life time. Everyone at the camp was very supportive and I cannot even measure the lessons that I took back with me."

Maria Liberopoulos
Mount Olive High School
Flanders, NJ

"On July 18th I got into the car with my parents and drove to TCNJ...I was filled with feelings of nervous anticipation; I had no idea what to expect. When we arrived at TCNJ, my parents and I instantly heard the joyful cheers of the very energetic junior counselors.  As I walked up to Townhouses East, and saw all of the smiling JCs I was intimidated by their pep; but and the same time, I was motivated to gain their enthusiasm. As soon as camp started, I knew it would be one of the best experiences of my life - and I was completely right!  The classes not only taught us delegates how to be better and more effective leaders, but they taught us how to be better people in general. While LTC did provide me with many amazing new leadership techniques, it also changed who I am.  Now, I’m a more confident and energetic person. LTC helped me be more comfortable with living out of my comfort zone at all times. And I can honestly say that without the help of LTC, I would not be the person I am today."

"LTC was a 2 in 1 combination of fun and learning that I am sure to never forget.  It put together the loose, fun, and positive attitude of summertime, and kept us, as delegates up and running.  At the same time, it became the ultimate package of learning to be a leader, putting together all the skills needed, including speaking, communication, meeting and time management, and much, much more.  In addition, LTC let everyone contribute to spreading ideas and brainstorming, so that everyone had something new to bring back to their schools, whether it be a new school spirit or fundraising idea, or a new set of skills to use during a Student Council meeting.  We made many lasting friendships and learned much along the way with a lot of fun; I know I sure did."

"LTC truly was a life changing experience. I never thought I could have that much fun and learn new leadership skills at the same time. I will definitely take the skills I have learned and bring them to my school, clubs, and sports. I want to thank the entire staff for giving me this experience and I can’t wait to go back next year to LTC 2! By the way yellow, you’re the best!"

"LTC can be summed up in one word...AMAZING! Although I was slightly skeptical when I first arrived at TCNJ, I was soon in love with everything about LTC. From the enthusiastic staff to the singing circles to the late nights in the townhouse, LTC was an experience I will never forget. Thanks to LTC, I made life long friends and was able to step outside of my comfort zone. LTC was the highlight of my summer and possible the rest of my life! Hope to return next year for LTC 2! Thanks to everyone who made LTC Session 2 so wonderful."

"LTC was a unique, life changing experience that will last a lifetime.  As delegates, we were able to unite with leaders across New Jersey through fun classes and crazy circle dances.  The friends we made all have the passion for success and we will remain friends for years to come.  I was able to break out of my shell by the circle games and my favorite one had to be the Alligator Song!  We might just have to bring this dance back to our Student Council as an ice breaker!  LTC was a one-of-a-kind leadership conference and I am so glad that I was able to be a part of such a prestigious program!  I can't wait to bring what I learned at LTC back to my school!"

"At first, I wasn't sure what to expect at LTC. I was really nervous because I was the only delegate from my school, I'm really shy and was worried that the classes would be boring. Boy, was I wrong! LTC was a blast, I made so many new friends who I will hopefully see again sometime soon. As a bonus, i learned a lot about being a leader in general, and now I have plenty of ideas to bring back to my school. I felt like I knew my whole purple team forever, when really I only knew them for four days! Even though my school doesn't send students again, I loved LTC so much i would love to go back myself! LTC was definitely one of the best parts of my summer, and I can't wait to use everything I learned for my school. Thanks, LTC!"

"First off let me just say, LTC was the best experience of my life. There were never any dull moments, just unforgettable times and irreplaceable friendships being formed. In the classes I learned and shared many ideas and obtained many of the characteristics I needed to become a better leader. I loved LTC and cant wait to come back next year. Thank you for everything!"
