2010 Region 2 Conference
Ocean City High School - Ocean City, NJ
On the weekend of April 23-25, Ocean City High School hosted the 2010 NASC Region 2 Conference. Over 60 student leaders from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania came to the REAL Jersey Shore to share ideas, get to know each other, present leadership workshops, energize, and define a mission statement for our region. The student leaders of Ocean City High School worked hard to provide an outstanding conference experience, which was definitely STUDENT planned and organized. From the first night to the last morning, it was clear that every aspect of this conference was carefully planned and set the stage for the state delegations to break boundaries and truly become one region.
At the heart of this conference was the group creation of the following mission statement for our region: "Five States - Endless Leadership - One Vision. NASC Region 2 strives to positively guide and encourage effective leadership among current and future generations of students throughout the states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. While acting on this vision, Region 2 will stimulate all student leaders, advisors, and individuals to unite and motivate the growth of student councils."
At this conference, outgoing NASC Region 2 Advisory Council members Mike White (PA - Advisor) and Stephen DeSalvo (NY - Student) were recognized for their excellent service to our Region over the past three years. From 2010-2012, Lou Miller (NJ - Advisor) and Sarah Rudasill (PA - Student) will serve Region 2 as the NASC Advisory Council member and student liaison.

For administrative purposes, the National Association of Student Councils (NASC) divides the United States into eight regions. Each region is represented on the NASC Advisory Board, our current representatives being Mike White (advisor, PA) and Stephen DeSalvo (student, NY). The New Jersey Association of Student Councils is a proud member of NASC Region 2, which includes the following five state Student Council associations: |
- Delaware Association of Student Councils (DASC)
- Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC)
- New Jersey Association of Student Councils (NJASC)
- New York State Council on Leadership & Student Activities (NYSCLSA)
- Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC)
