Recognizing the service of Advisors...
The NJASC recognizes the important role of the Student Council Advisor in supporting not only our programs, but the development of student leaders in our middle and high schools. In 2009, we are proud to introduce two new award programs to honor advisors who have dedicated years of service to their schools and our association.
2009 Freda Marden Award
Named after the first NJASC Executive Director, Freda Marden, this new award is given to retiring advisors with 25 or more years of service. Mrs. Marden, a teacher and Student Council advisor at New Brunswick High School, served NJASC from 1927-1963 and remains the longest serving Executive Director to this day.

Michael Nolan, of Bordentown Regional High School, is pictured with NJASC Executive Directors Lou Miller and Wendy Booth Sitzler. Mr. Nolan has served the student leaders of Bordentown Regional and been an ardent supporter of NJASC and its programs for 29 years. We congratulate him on the many achievements of his school and student leaders in that time, and wish him well in retirement. |

Advisor Service Awards
Starting at the 2009 Fall Business Meeting, the NJASC will recognize advisors who have given 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, etc. years of service to the student leaders of their schools. We will publish this list here, and award plaques to each of these dedicated individuals in honor of the valuable service they provide to our organization and their own schools.
